type='text'>How video games affect our lives

Virtual fantasy..pause and think, its certainly affecting us

Movies

Games

Anime

Toys

TV Shows

Human fantasy projected into a package for other humans to consume, and many times this consumption is totally automatic. just like reading this. while you will stop and think about the things you read, unfortunatly that dosent happen enough when dealing with virtual reality. What happens to the unfortunate mind is that it takes in everything virtual as almost real, and because the fantasy plays on only after thought/action/acceptance from the player..it becomes very much like how we would function in real life.

you may find this statement somewhat stupid, until you take into consideration the Thousands of hardcore gamers in singapore alone. To them...games or playing out a fantasy has become a major part of their life. Virtual reality can wrap you up in a dream, a artifically constructed and maintained by computers reality that you stay in and play out while awake

You can decide to STOP consumption of this fantasys, but in the mind of many people especially young children, this is impossible. They simply dont STOP to think about it First. Their acceptance of this artifical reality is automatic.

Game addicts..we have all read about them. lurking in cyber cafes or locked away at home. of all ages and personalitys

people who live in constructed fantasy. because every game, every anime, every comic book, is a carefully crafted world of its own.

while the game advances in your computer, it advances in your mind. while the words in a story book remain as black ink on paper, your mind however continues to play out the fantasy written within. and that changes you. simple not a fair trade at all.

everything starts with a step and ends when you stop walking.

Should you want to stop living in fantasy then take a step towards real life and remember to keep on walking.

Write it down and put it somewhere you will see everyday. Hardcore gamers..like me in a previous life. will always slip back to gaming. always unless You Control Yourself Everyday.
<img width='1' height='1' against chemo for cancer, a person with only western medical views will naturally disagree with me, but i think we can both agree that the survival rate for chemo is low.

for western minded people, i think your world is getting more and more turbulent(crazy), with cancer rates increasing, stroke, high blood pressure, all the other illness to worry about....the only modern comfort you have is exercise and diet. religion too but...religion is kinda bordering to the supernatural like qi gong, isnt it.

nowadays, Commercial interests are intensely highlighting all kinds of supposed nutrient deficiency in your diet and using all sorts of scare factors to get western(modern) minded consumers to buy their products. milk with added calcium and vitamin D anyone ? the fact is that milk by itself already contains sufficient calcium and vitamin D is produced when there is sunlight on our skin.

i am not surprised if most people here think they have some kind of deficiency that needs to be plugged by taking pills ! and there is a increasingly number of exotic health products with equally exotic substances that promise Experience

From my personal experience and those from my friends, Qi gong alone is enough to improve many health conditions and tai ji will allow your body to heal itself completely again

whatever needs to be healed will be healed, whether you know it or not, whether its a old problem that you thought is already healed, i personally had a very bad lower spine pain during the last few months of my NS, and also a sharp pain in my left knee cap. I took glucosamine every week to help me with the pain

1 year ++ after i ORD, my lower spine will still hurt whenever i stop taking glucosamine...but the pain is much less lah. and my kneecap had no improvement at all...probably because i try to regularly jog twice a week to improve my health

I started doing Qi gong in may..

by June my knee cap was totally ok, I had totally stopped glucosamine for 1 month ++ . I also did not experience anymore pain in my lower spine

Now August, Recently i kept feeling a cold line at my back, and inside my head, this cold line only felt on my left hand side and the feeling is like theres something cold inside my body but only this "cold line"

I went to check with a chinese doctor and this is what he told me

"Your cold feeling is probably due to some back injury, and this line actually runs from your toe to your head. are you going to the gym or doing any exercise now ? "

" nothing to worry about, just rest afew days and it will be ok"

All this time i have Only been doing qi gong and tai ji ! it is amazing that my NS spine injury was more on the left, because it felt like a sharp pain going from left to right and whenever i bend down or "turn wrongly", i would be in terrible pain

it seems that tai chi will actually brings up old wounds and heal them completely, this is already my 4th month without any glucosamine or any other kind of supplement

also i have tried 1 cc before while my friends have tried several, sad to say
the tai ji that we have all experienced at Community centers are of lower quality then the place we are currently learning.

dun think tai ji is just moving arms and legs, pls think, how can simply moving arms and legs give powerful health benefits ? theres much more to tai ji then the outer movement and 1 needs a good place to learn from, where all the correct knowledge will be passed down

I have not tried to qi gong at community centers so cannot comment, however, if you are interested in qi gong and/or tai chi for your health, i can recommend the 2 places im learning from now

Are atoms living or dead ?

Are atoms in bricks living or dead ?

Are atoms in plants living or dead ?

Are atoms in our bodies living or dead ?

Can atoms be called living or dead or are atoms simply atoms, neither living or dead ?

-

Found the answer , current science is unable to classify atoms as living or dead, so lets just say they simply exist

misc

Do you believe you have a soul ?

Where is your soul now ? type='text'>Healthy life style VS Detox/Slimming pills

in a way, many people including me used to live on junk food and total lack of exercise ( before army i played computer games 24/7 and literally butt stuck on the chair )

even after changing to a healthy lifestyle, it would be prudent to flush out the accumulated waste from all those years of unhealthy living.

theres a big difference between the once-a-blue-moon flushing out that healthy people can choose to do or not, and the needy dependency that unhealthy or "unbalanced" people end up with.

what im saying is that YOUR HEALTH is the Only answer to your problem. detox pills/slimming pills are commercialized product that focus on the BY-PRODUCTS of a unhealthy lifestyle and/or diet.

of course there will be people who swear by this pills, usually they either
1) are selling them
2) depend on them <- DEPEND on PILLS

the 1st are out to make money

the 2nd are so un-balanced that they have to depend on pills to maintain normal body functions

Usually this people will also believe they are eating a healthy diet or a Normal lifestyle, but by using our brains to think it through, there must be a reason hidden from them that causes their problems.

Fats.

Fats.

Most people only think of fats as bad. why ? Simple

Fats in our body can be used to store 2 things. Good stuff like Vitamins & energy(healthy fats) or Bad stuff like toxins which a overloaded body cannot process

Everyone goes on how bad fats is. but the truth is, Your own Diet decides if your fats is good or bad. regular, moderate exercise will sweat out toxins from your body

enough water and regular bowel movements will also help alot in removing toxins. everybody has different bowel movement. some feel the urge to go afew times a day, other maybe only once a day. just make sure your diet has enough fibre and your own body will take care of the rest.

then there is diet itself. Unfortunately, our meat is poisoned by antibiotics and hormones injected into the animals. mad cow disease came about because cows were given the commercially useless parts of other dead cows mixed in with their feed..probably to save money on feeding costs.

free range chicken and lamb/mutton are probably the healthier choices, compared to beef, pork and chicken from chicken farms.

but nvm, this is the world we live in. just make sure to maintain your body's own detox abilities.

Enough water
Dietary fiber
Moderate & Regular exercise
Never take anything in excess, this includes all nutritional supplements.

Fats were always meant to be good, they were meant for our body to store up good things for future use. Fats can also be used by our body to store toxins when our body is overloaded. This toxins were meant to be sweated out at a later stage..that is why regular exercise is so important ! As you can see, Fats are supposed to be a good thing, it is our diet and lifestyle that has overloaded our poor fats with too much toxins and our over worked body keeps producing fats to store toxins that they cant get rid.

The key to maintaining good fats is enough exercise, vegetables/fruits, dietary fiber & water, the health of our fats can be maintained with regular exercise to sweat out the toxins and our own body will also detox thru bowel movements.

Regular meat eaters must pay close attention to the above and try to stick with lean meats or at least stop eating the chunks of fats on your steak.

So people, stop agonizing about your fats because it is there to help you store the good things ! just make sure your diet and lifestyle is healthy enough.

even light exercise such as fast walk is a very helpful way to remove toxins. just remember you must sweat for the toxins to come out of your body, walking from office to food court and then window shopping after lunch in a air conditioned building is totally useless for getting rid of toxins !

exercising in a air conditioned room is next to useless for your health. the pores of your body do not open up freely because of the artificial cold and dry air circulating continuously around the room. In fact your skin will react to the cold and dry air by absorbing any water on your skin to keep your skin cells hydrated....which in this case is your sweat and all the toxins in it. of course normally the skin can take water from your body...but remember that you are exercising and your body itself is using its own water to expel out toxins, this sweat stays on your dry dry skin which is caused by the dry air from the air-con. so what does your dry and thirsty skin do with all the sweat ? yucks. so pls stop exercising in air-conditioned rooms !!

Abt Exercise

Exercise will do 2 things.
1) release toxins from your body thru sweat.
2) the more high impact the exercise, the more it will wear out your body

Thats why Moderate exercise is very important. pls allow your body to recover ! and at the same time get all the good health benefits from exercise.

Avoid doing exercise in a air-conditioned room.

Qi gong combined with Tai chi is a excellent example of a very low impact exercise that can be done almost everyday.
